How to publish your current web site to our servers with Microsoft FrontPageŽ

This is the main view of the Microsoft FrontPageŽ window:

Getting Started.

Lets take a look at the File menu of Microsoft FrontPageŽ as this is where you will start each session working with your Web site.
Note:
by default you may not see all options that are available on the menu. If you don't see the options you are looking for you need to keep the mouse pointer over the word "File", or click on the double down arrow at the bottom of the menu in order to reveal all available options.

You will have to know your IP number:

This is more reliable way of addressing locations on the Web when transferring a Web site between servers. The IP numbers come in a form of four groups of one to three digits separated by periods; e.g. 63.141.161.255

You need to know your existing site's IP number along with the user name and password for accessing it, and the IP number, user name and password you received when you signed up for hosting with us.

After opening your site in FrontPage 2000 you need to choose the Publish Web... option from the File menu (please, see the document on Getting Started With Microsoft FrontPageŽ if you don't know how to access/open your Web).

At this point you will see the following dialog box:

In the "Specify the location to publish your web to:" field, you will need to type in the IP number that you have been supplied with. Always starts with "http://".

If you are publishing your site to the new location for the first time, you should check the "Publish all pages....". If your site contains subwebs (e.g. discussion group, and such, that require separate location and/or its own settings) you should check the "Include subsites" check box under "Publishing" tab.

After clicking on the "Publish" button you will see the progress of the publish process. You may be asked for your user name and password for the location you are about to publish your Web to. After the process is finished you should be able to use your site from our server by your IP number, or by your domain name (if your domain name has been registered or switched using proper settings to point to the new location).

See this document for instructions on how to open your site using Microsoft FrontPageŽ.
