Setting up an email account using
Netscape 4.x
Here is information on how to setup your e-mail
account on Netscape Mail that comes with Netscape Communicator 4.x.
From the menu open Edit/Preferences, click on the "+" next to the
Mail & Newsgroups.
Click on mail servers. You can
only use one POP3
account
using Netscape Mail. Click on the existing account in the
Incoming Mail Servers area.
Click Edit. In Mail Server Properties enter for
Server Name: postmaster.yourdomainname.com
(replace "yourdomainname" with
the real name of your domain).
Pick from the drop-down menu: "POP3
Server" for the User Name enter: username (replace "username" with
whatever user name you use for your account).
Click OK
In the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) area enter for
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server: postmaster.yourdomainname.com
Outgoing Mail Server "user name": username (replace
"username" with your actual user name).
Click OK
NOTE: You can have the program remember your password if you check the
checkbox "Remember password" - you will have to enter your
password only
the first time when you login.
